~Mathias’s P.O.V.~

Mathias stopped for a while on the hallway, because he lost sight of the target he was hunting. He looked around, but he didn’t see anybody on the empty hallway. “Did my eyes trick me?” he fumed silently. “Nah, I'll go to the toilet and wash my face, I must have slept restlessly...” he mumbled, and scratching his head he walked to the toilet. His facial expression reflected only shock when he looked in the mirror.

What the hell…

The only thing that was seen in the mirror was a black throne, like the mirror was a gate to another dimension. The throne looked old and expensive, maybe used by royal people. On the throne sat a woman in black. For some reason Mathias wasn’t able to distinguish her features or her silhouette, as if she was sitting in a completely dark room.

”Mathias, long time no see!” the woman smiled lightly, sensing the attendance of Mathias without looking at him.

“You... What do you want?” Mathias demanded with his arms crossed, clearly riled. Mathias very seldom despised anyone, but this woman caused an instinctive dislike reaction moving all around the ridge of his backbone.

The woman chuckled supposedly kindly. “Oh, nothing, I just wanted to come and say hello!”

Mathias snorted. “Alright then, hello, and now I'll leave immediately.” He turned towards the door and grabbed the doorhandle, ready to exit right away.

“Not that quickly, my dear”, the woman interrupted his intents and snapped her fingers.
Suddenly Mathias felt a sharp twinge in his back and quickly let go of the doorhandle, holding his back. “Ow! What the hell?” He turned to look at the woman, who sat on the throne angrily, with his deep ocean blue eyes glowing with hate. “What did you do?”

“See for yourself~” the woman smiled lightly, clearly enjoying the situation.

Mathias took off his red blouse and looked at his back, using the mirror. The woman disappeared from the mirror for a while so that Mathias could see his back. In the middle of his back had appeared a tattoo: the Roman numeral two. “What the hell...” the man mumbled.

The woman appeared back to the mirror with her throne and continued with her annoyingly calm and sadistic voice: “I think you know what that means-“

“I hate you!” Mathias interrupted the woman, crushing his hands in fists and shook for anger.

“-so I'll finish our nice conversation here... Until the next time, Mathias. Which could be really, really soon...” the woman turned her head a little towards Mathias, revealing her twisted smile. Right after that the mirror changed into a normal mirror, and the shadow of the woman disappeared. Mathias stared at the mirror for a while, rubbing his eyes, and put his shirt on again.

“We will see that...” he mumbled and walked back to the class whose door was still open. Everyone stared at him, and that wasn’t the best thing for his crankiness. He grunted and snapped his axe and threw it again on the opposite wall, where it got stuck again. Everyone stared at him for a while and then continued their work, shivering for fear. Mathias sat next to the girl, sighing deeply, and put his tie better. _______ looked at him worriedly and whispered quietly: “Is everything alright?”

Mathias turned to look at the girl’s curious face and felt how a smile slowly rose on his lips.

No matter how angry I am, she always makes me smile in seconds, how wonderful girl.

“Everything is fine now when I’m with you.”

The girl smiled and continued doing the exercises.

~These powers speak in mysterious ways, and they don’t show their true meaning to the others...

~Your P.O.V.~

Finally the bell rang, informing that the lesson was over. When your classmates sprinted out of the door as fast as they could, you packed your bag without a hurry while Mathias went to get his dear axe. You stayed to look, when he yanked with only one, strong yank the axe from the wall. You gaze moved for a while to the window, and the sunlight shined beautifully from the wild, blonde hair of Mathias. It was like Mathias's hair tried to outshine the sun. Mathias explored at the crack that his weapon left on the wall, pondering a little absent-mindedly what to do.

Something is wrong now, Mathias isn’t usually that silent... What on Earth did he see, and why did he disappear from the classroom like that? I know he doesn’t respect the rules, but somehow he looked really... bitter about something? It sounds funny, because he’s not bitter about anything! It can be seen on him from far away, Mathias always walks with a smile on his face. Though I can’t deny the fact that the thoughtful version of him is also handsome...

“Meh!” you shouted accidentally out loud when you realized what you were thinking. You covered your mouth with your hand, even though he couldn’t hear your thoughts.

Mathias woke up from his thoughts and turned to look at you, wondering. “Hm?”

You giggled nervously, shaking your head like you tried to excuse your thoughts. “Nothing, eh, nothing at all! ...Let’s go to the break, okay?”

Mathias gave you his warmest smile that you couldn’t really decode. “Of course, princess.”

You arrived at your locker with Mathias and you dug the key up from the bottom of your bag. Next in line was the native language lesson, so you opened your locker and took your native language books with you. Just as you managed to lock your locker again, a friend from other class jumped to you. “Well, how are things going?” she whispered in your ear, grinning suggestively.

“W-what are you talking about?”

Your friend rolled her/his eyes like you had asked how much 1 + 1 is. “Oh c’mon, you know very well what I’m talking about...”

Mathias joined the chat by whispering in your friend’s ear, clearly riled. “What if, dear friend, you let _______ be.”

”B-but...” your friend stuttered.

"No buts."

Your friend sweared to herself/himself, clearly not meaning her/his words to you, but she/he said them too loudly. “People will miss juicy gossips... Mh!”

Mathias's eyes narrowed and his mouth turned slowly to a cruel grin. “Then they'll miss them... Go away if you care about your health even a little bit... I just noticed how much I desire to hack you with my axe.” he said slowly, danger radiating from his calm voice.

Your friend hightailed away really fast, screaming "CHIGII~" so loudly that you were surprised of how much capacity she/he had in her/his lungs.

You stared at Mathias, and your eyes widened. Ha gazed after your friend, grinning roguishly. “Geez… You can be really scary when you want to, did you know that?”

Mathias returned back to his normal self and threw his axe on his shoulders. He chuckled and scratched his head. “Sometimes you get questionable influences from Ivan...“

“Hah... Oh, how time flies, our lesson starts soon!”

You ran to the next lesson which was your native language. Your teacher was lazy and decided that today’s topic was reading books. You took your favorite book whose reading was still in process. After a few pages you were completely absorbed in the story, before you noticed from the corner of your eye that Mathias, sitting next to you, looked thoughtful again.

~Mathias’s P.O.V.~

“You don’t want to read anything or?” the girl next to Mathias expressed quietly.

Mathias shook his head and answered: “You can read, just go ahead, I’ll kill time for this hour.” She nodded and got absorbed back into her book. Mathias smiled to himself when he stayed to look at her hair, deep in his thoughts. He saw how beautifully her hair waved from side to side when she turned her head quickly, as she usually does.

How beautiful…

Mathias sighed deep and started to think about the woman’s words again and again.

“See for yourself~”

I know exactly what the number symbolizes...

A bit too well.

Crap! I had almost forgotten how time goes forward... The mark is a clear reminder from that bitch about the decision that I soon have to do. Take it or leave it. This should be a piece of cake, I have been in this situation at least... nah, I can’t remember how many times! Usually the answer has been as clear as crystal by now.

But...

That was then, and now everything is completely scattered.

Nah, what I’m trying to explain? I know my answer very well.

But how can I know if there is something truly sufficient between us?

Still deep in his thoughts, Mathias started to spin his axe around above his head, leaning onto his other hand.

_________ is lovely, something what I have always been looking for out of many, many girls, with big expectations. However, there has always been something that has made me forget about it. When I stop to think about her, I can’t find those reasons. She’s perfect, my own princess. There are so many girls I could take home...

She’s one of those few ones that I would like to build a home with.

But… If things don’t go like in movies, I don’t want to break her heart, not in any case!

I’ll sacrifice my own for her…

Dammit, what should I do?

“Eh, Mathias?” the girl whispered and interrupted the inner monologue of Mathias.

”Yeah?”

The girl pointed up with her finger, and Mathias turned to watch. While he was deep in his thoughts, he had spinned the axe, which was still spinning with the speed of a deadly circular saw, destroying the walls nearby.

Dammit, this always happens when I sink into my thoughts! The Danish snorted to himself and stopped his weapon with only one, strong move of hand, saying apologetically: “I’m sorry, teacher dear!”

Your teacher stared at the wall in a mild shock and mumbled from between his/her lips: “I-it’s nothing, accidents happen... T-the lesson is over, amen.”

“Cool! I knew that you'd understand!” Mathias chuckled with a smile on his face and jumped up on his chair. “Let’s go to eat!”

The girl grabbed her bag from her seat and walked with Mathias to the door which wasn’t overcrowded, for her surprise. All the others waited nicely, without hurrying, until the two went out of the classroom. Just before the girl disappeared from the classroom, she posed the words “I’m sorry” with her lips.

A little later the two sat in the cafeteria, and while the girl poked her food, she remembered one thing and pointed Mathias with her fork, from which hung something the cookers called “food”.  “By the way, I sent a message to mom during the lesson, we can go to the city straight from school.”

Damn, I almost forgot the whole date!

“Oh? Great! How many hours do we have left?” he answered happily to her.

She was about to open her mouth to reply, but she got interrupted by a loud declaration from the main radio: “Excuse me for interrupting the lessons, but I have some important to tell: because of a chemical accident in the chemistry lab, school ends today unusually right after lunch. We are sorry about what happened and wish you a nice day.”

Right after the declaration ended, the whole cafeteria burst in applauses. The cafeteria was filled with noise when the students quickly took their trays away and ran away from the hall like it was on fire. Mathias got excited at least as much as the others and shouted: “Did you hear that? No more school, now let’s celebrate!” He grabbed the girl’s hand and ran out of the hall with her, leaving the tray on the table, while the cookers grumbled. The girl got excited too and shouted with Mathias. They jumped along the hallway, towards her locker. “Let's get our jackets and go~!”

~later ~your P.O.V.~

You sat on the bus on your way to downtown, Mathias next to you, as always.

“Do you have anything special to look for at the shops?” Mathias asked you, his blue eyes sparkling.

You rubbed your chin thoughtfully when you thought about what to answer. “I guess no…“

“Good, then we'll just focus on having fun!" Mathias chuckled, smiling his very familiar smile which was almost a trademark of his.

That sparkle of his eyes... Mathias is like a little boy who just made a new friend…

“Hey look, we are already there!” you woke up from your thoughts when you looked out of the window and saw your hometown’s square looming in front of you. You pressed the stop-button, and the bus driver started to slow the bus’s speed down and stopped quickly in front of the stop. You were already walking towards the door, when it was only opening, and thanked the driver.

When the bus moved again, you and Mathias looked around, your Danish friend with his huge axe on his shoulders. “So, where should we go first?”

“How about that shopping center over there?” you asked, pointing with your finger to your favorite shopping center, only a little distance from you two. “There are many types of shops there, so I guess something nice will surely be found. But Mathias, are you really gonna walk around with that axe?” you nodded a little concernedly towards his sharp killing weapon.

“It’s fine by me... Oh? You mean that I should leave this in some kind of a locker?”
You rolled your eyes, chuckling skeptically. “Oh c’mon, that will not fit in any shopping center’s lockers!”

Mathias grinned to you playfully, abetting you: “Wanna bet?”

I won’t go along with your stupid game, you snorted to yourself and threw your hands up in the air melodramatically. “Alright then, let’s just go already, carry it with you then. You can explain carrying a sharp weapon in public all by yourself to the polices. Some old granny will call them up anyway.”

Mathias nodded and grinned for his victory before he started to walk next to you cheerfully.

You arrived at the shopping center's huge main entry. Mathias instantly spotted a row of lockers opposite the doors. With quick, agile steps he ran there without you noticing. You mumbled to him: “So, where are we going first- MATHIAS!” you yelled when you noticed his disappearance. Anyway, a long Dane wasn’t hard to notice, and you scooted after him.

Mathias tried to box his huge, about one meter long axe horizontally into a really small locker. He turned to look at you, grinning. “Yeah? Could you please help me, this locker is too small.”

You buried your face deep in your hands for clear shame. “Get your shit together man, and stop now for fuck’s sake!”

Mathias didn’t care less about your advice, and pounted how he would get the axe fit into the locker. “Nah, this doesn’t fit in like this... Let’s try this!” he mumbled and tried the same vertically, which didn’t give the wanted result. The sharp axe broke the doors of at least three lockers. “Ooops!” Mathias chuckled, trying to cover his mistake with laughter.

Is there any place I could hide? you thought when you looked at people’s wondering and disapproving faces while they walked by you. Suddenly one man’s stare disturbed you outstandingly and you wondered why.

Well, soon you knew why, when the man walked close enough so that you could read the text on his shirt: “Security.”

“Wait a minute, isn’t that the guard? He doesn’t look very happy...” you mumbled silently and poked Mathias in the back for getting his attention. Mathias turned to look and he gulped audibly. “Wo-ou...” He pulled his axe off from the locker and whispered to you: “Umm.. Ready to run like hell?”

And you still pulled me into the mess of your own... I’ll remember this! But now isn’t the best moment to start arguing.

You nodded while gazing at the guard, who was closer and closer to you.

“Hey, you. What’s going o-“

“Catch us if you can!” Mathias yelled for an answer and scooted by the confused guard, you following right behind him. You speeded up when you heard the guard’s shouting after you. You quickly scampered past dilatory people, saying quick apologies to every direction.

“Do we have a plan? That guy is really in a good fit!” you cried out to Mathias, pointing to the guard who reached to you a bit. The shopping center’s hallways wouldn’t continue on endlessly...

Mathias thought for a second and shouted: “Eh, I guess that we could lead him astray at some shop. Let’s run there!” he pointed at the book shop in front of you, where were stairs to the second floor. When you reached the door, he shouted out quickly: “See you upstairs!”

Like by mutual agreement you splitted up, Mathias to the right side of the shop and you to the left. He stopped and looked at you two, and gave you a chance to take a deep breath.

Would he just give up already...? Umm, I did a stupid move when I went to the left, the stairs to the second floor are on the right side of the shop, damn it!

As if the guard had heard your thoughts, he turned suddenly to look exactly at your hiding place and shouted: “Hey, you there, stop!”

“Dammit!” you whined out loud and scooted from your hiding place. Your intention was to sidestep the guard a little bit from the left and run to the stairs as fast as you could. Unfortunately, a selling table blocked your way, and if you had turned around, you would have run straight into the guard’s arms. “Wo-ou..” You heard footsteps coming closer to you quickly and you tried to invent a solution to your problem. Suddenly you noticed a small chair in front of the table which was used by the staff.

This might be my only chance… you made a quick decision. You took a few steps and strode onto the top of the chair. You kicked the chair on the move immediately when your foot separated from it. The chair flied backwards and you heard a soft thump, when it bumped into the guard’s chest. Because of the power of the effort, you flied over the table, your toes almost touching the books. You landed almost immediately to the ground on the other side of the table. For easing the hit that your legs got, you crouched for sharing your weight all around better. Your fingers touched the ground, and you got up right away like a sprinter, continuing your escape. You could already see the stairs in front of you, and you started to run them up two steps at a time, when Mathias appeared from somewhere next to you.

“Wow, that was awesome!” He smiled, his deep ocean blue eyes glowing with admiration.

“Tsk. This won’t hold him for long, what’s the plan B?” you smiled modestly when you ran up the stairs and out of the shop.

“Let’s find another shopping center, this place is a little restless for some reason!” Mathias laughed. “Like that!” He pointed to a door which leaded to other center, close by.

You ran there, and when you were on the ground floor and sure that the guard wasn’t after you anymore, you darted to the closest empty bench.

“Phew, we finally got rid of him!” you sighed when you waited until your breath calmed down.

Mathias laughed, as always. “I must admit that he was quite stubborn. But well, where would we go first?”

You looked around you in the center. “There are quite a lot of clothes shops, maybe we should start from there?” you pointed to one of your favorite clothing shops.

“Fine by me.” Mathias stood up and walked with you to the store. For your request he left his axe behind the cash desk for storing. “Umm.. What do we have here?” he mumbled and looked around. “Oh, how wonderful~!” he shouted and ran to the women’s underwear section.

You didn’t notice his disappearance from next to you even this time, when your attention was directed into a lovely hoodie, which was an perfect mix of [choose two colors]. You looked at the hoodie: the price was good and the fabric felt nice on your hands. You searched your size from the bar and aimed to the store’s dressing room. When you put the cover in front of the curious gazes and fitted the hoodie, one thought came to your mind:

Where did Mathias disappear, by the way?

Just like he had heard your thoughts, the man already shouted from outside of the dressing room: “_______! ________! Come to look!”

You changed the hoodie on you faster than you would have believed, fearing of what to expect. A real surprise waited for you, when you peeked outside the dressing room. “What the hel…”

You stared the view in front of you like somebody had hit your head with a plank. Mathias had put on a black, girls’ mini skirt with glitter on it, and pink push- up- bras could be seen under a clearly too small black leather jacket decorated with rivets. A really colorful collection of necklaces finished the epic outfit.

“Aren’t these, like, totally lovely clothes?” Mathias winked at you and sent a blow kiss to your direction.

“Ehm… *cough* Aren’t those bras a little too much?” you coughed again, trying to hide your large smile, which already tickled the corners of your mouth.

“Oh, should I take them off?” Mathias grinned suggestively and took a few steps closer to you.

How can someone look so good even in drag queen- style? And I thought that Feliks was the champion of that genre!
..Brains, shut up.

The mere thought of Feliks plus a flirting Dane in front of you was too much for your self-control and you bursted into hysterical laugh. “Oh, fuck you, man!” You held your stomach, giggling like mad.

“What do you say if we had a little competition? Who dresses up more stupidly?” Mathias didn’t mind about your sarcasm and offered his hand for making a deal.

“Hihihi... And what would the loser do? Offer a coffee to the other?” you smiled and tried to be more serious.

Mathias smiled somewhat devilishly, and nodded. “Damn, you’re so boring! But it’s fine... this time.”

I don’t want to know what he had in his mind...

You shook hands with Mathias, grinning when you accepted the challenge. “Okay, now let’s change those clothes off and find new ones!”

After ten minutes you two had changed your clothes, and you waited impatiently for the signal to show your outfit.

Hopefully I chose clothes weird enough, based on his earlier outfit I really don’t know what to expect... Well, I look stupid enough not to lose very badly... Damn it with my competition spirit!

Suddenly Mathias’s voice from a little distance interrupted your thoughts. “Are you ready, princess?”

“I’m ready, and you?”

”Yeah. Okay, three, two, one, now!”

You came forth at the same time, and when you saw his outfit, you couldn’t help wondering from where he had conjured it up: Mathias had a costume of a clown, which included oversized red pants, a shirt which had white-red stripes, and a yellow and woolly wig from the McDonald’s-clown. A red nose of a clown decorated his nose and he had five sizes too big shoes, just like Goofy’s.

Not like your own costume was normal: you had a silvery space suit from a bad 80’s scifi-movie, which licked your every curve. Around you was a silvery star rack, which was really difficult to drag into the dressing room and which seemed like it was stolen from Lady Gaga. Plus it banged to your every step. The weird entity was finished with a basket cap which seemed to belong to a fan of the Soviet Union. Why you chose that to be your headdress, you didn’t know.

You stared at each other’s costumes for a while, when you bursted into laugh so loud, that the sellers rose their eyebrows to you disapprovingly, but without a result.

“Well, who won?” Mathias tried to sputter between laughing.

He had to wait the reply, because you couldn’t help laughing. You focused all of your willpower to remembering to breath. Finally you had to take assist from Mathias that you could stand up.

After a while you managed to say: “It’s draw, let’s say so?”

“Y-yup... Bwahahaha~” Mathias grinned so widely that you doubted that there might be something wrong with his chin bones. You staggered back to the dressing room, star rack still banging to the rhythm, and still giggling.

Finally, when both of you calmed down enough, you changed your own clothes on and headed to the center’s café. Mathias looked at the yummies behind the glass hungrily. “Yum, those look so good! What you would want?”

“Umm...” you scanned the selection and ended up choosing [the dessert and drink you want]. “These would do just fine, I’m starting to get a little hungry. What will you take, Mathias?”

“A coffee and... that chocolate cake looks so tempting that I think I’ll taste it!” Mathias took the biggest piece of the cake and smiled.

“How much will those do together?” you pondered when you dug you money up.

“Hey-hey, I’ll pay! Don’t you remember who asked you here?”

“But…” you tried to contradict, but when you looked at Mathias, you read from his face that this isn’t a topic to debate about. “...alright.”

Mathias smiled with satisfaction again and ruffled up your hair, which made you smile lightly. Normally you hated it when someone messed you hair... But in the case of Mathias it didn’t matter so much. “Would you go look for a place for us?” he asked you.

“Sure!” You took your bag and toured for a while around the café, looking for a good place to sit. Luckily now wasn’t rush time, and there were nicely many empty seats. You chose a nice place in the back corner, where were comfy leather sofas. You brushed your hair while Mathias paid your purchases and navigated to your table. He laid the tray on the table, threw his long, black leather jacket onto the chairs back, and sat down opposite of you.

“This is about the first time when I don’t buy beer...” he chuckled and took a sip of his coffee.

“Oh, you didn’t need to give up your tradition because of me!” you laughed, being scared that you were just a pain in his ass.

Mathias lifted his gaze from the table to your eyes and smiled warmly, giving you that funny feeling again. You weren’t able to say what that feeling was... It wasn’t anything bad, surely. The bottom of your stomach tickled, and you hoped that it couldn’t be seen on your face really far away. “I don’t need beer, don’t we always have fun in any case?”

You laughed and smiled back to him. “You’re right! Now when I stop to think about it, I can’t even remember the last time I had this much fun!”

“Same here!” Mathias took another sip of his coffee, and you ate for a while in complete silence, focusing on the yummies in front of you.

He has managed well in a really short time to return the smile back on my face, even at school, which is really an achievement. Usually at school I just pull my mouth in a tight line and raise my spikes for taking cover from all shit, if I can say so.

“That escape of yours from the guard at the book store looked really awesome! How did you do it?” Mathias ate his cake while he waited your reply.

You ate the rest of your dessert, before you replied: “Hah.. This sounds like a cliché, but I have seen many times when people do that in the movies, but the scale is usually jumping over some bridge etc... And I didn’t want to solve the thing by fighting. Maybe inside of me lives a little ninja?” you laughed for your own vision.

“The jump needed only epic music on the background and a slow-motion and vóila! A warranted hit movie: beats all Twilights with hundred-zero when it comes to the story and action!”

“Well, you don’t need much for that... But a beautiful thought, thank you~” you smiled a little and looked at your watch. “Oops, it’s almost five PM, the bus to our place leaves after an hour... How the time has flown!”

”Good that you noticed... Are you ready, we could go around for a while!”

“Yeah, let’s go!” you got up from the sofa and threw your jacket on you, while Mathias took his own jacket and carried the tray away. “So, where we should go?” he asked when he returned.

“It’s all the same to me, let’s see what here is.”

So, you two walked around, but didn’t find anything that you liked. Suddenly Mathias got an idea: “This place is so seen, would the guard be still angry to us, if we took a look of that center again?” he pondered at loud, grinning roguishly.

“Umm... I wouldn’t be so sure that he would forget us immediately.” you snorted skeptically.

“We’ll find out in only one way!” Mathias grabbed your hand and started running towards the other center. You followed him, when you hadn’t any other choice, pondering to yourself:

This is not gonna end well…

Soon you were at the other shopping center, and Mathias looked around, spotting a game store. “Shall we go there?”

“Sure! I actually like games a lot!” you nodded.

“Awesome! Let’s go~” Mathias’s sentence ended up unfinished, when he saw the familiar guard noticing you again. “Plan C!” Without letting your hand go, he headed to the closest hallway.

You looked back, where you couldn’t see the guard, for your surprise. “I can’t see the guard after us yet… Should we try to hide somewhere?” you suggested to Mathias, who looked a little lost.

“That’s a good idea.” He chose randomly one door, which luckily was open, and pulled you inside. For the result of the quick move you bumped into his chest, and you were all ears and listened to what happened behind the door.

On the empty hallway you heard the guard’s footsteps, which came closer and closer all the time, finally stopping. You held your breath in case it would reveal your hiding place, and you noticed that Mathias did the same.

The silence got snapped by the guard’s disappointed mumbling, when he talked into a radio phone. “Yeah, I lost those two vandals again…” his voice and the toll of his footsteps faded out. You sighed for relief at the same time with Mathias, and slowly realized the situation you two were in.

In panic you had wrapped your arms around Mathias, and you held him close. His strong arms were wrapped around you. The two of you were in a cramped cleaning closet, where you could barely see further from your nose. You lifted your gaze up to Mathias’s face, and stared in a little bewilderment into his deep ocean blue eyes.

That gaze is somehow a little weird, I have never seen it on him before... His eyes glow, but not with anger.

That mystic glow in his eyes only got stronger, and you felt his hand rest on your chin, and without waiting for permission he raised your chin closer to his face, while he grabbed you into his arms with the other arm. Mathias bowed lower towards your lips and closed his eyes. You couldn’t do anything but the same, and you felt your heart rate rise into high levels.

You could feel his breath very close to your face, seconds going by exasperatingly slowly.

Creek.

Light overflowed to the room from the door, and Mathias’s eyes were quickly opened when he woke up from his trance. He backed down and almost lost his balance. You turned around, looking if the guard had returned. At the door was waiting a snappy cleaner with her cart. She clearly wasn’t in her best mood, and you felt your cheeks glow also with shame, and you mumbled silently: “I’m sorry, dear madam...”

“Go somewhere else to spawn!”

Mathias walked to the hallway silently, mumbling something like an apology. You followed him, staring at his back bemusedly.

What on Earth did just happen or almost happen?

Knowing Mathias, he usually wouldn’t care less about some cleaner... He looks a little… sad? Repentant? What’s happening here?

Or the most important question: what’s happening to me?

How the hell did you read my mind with the coffee and chocolate cake?
